This curriculum is designed to satisfy the basic lower division requirement for mass communication majors at senior institutions. For this specialty, the recommended coursework includes nine semester credits in journalism and 37-41 semester credits from the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) General Core Curriculum. The remaining credits to complete an associate degree (a minimum of 64 semester credits) should be chosen with the assistance of an academic advisor.
