It is possible for a student to take a small grouping of courses which, taken as a unit, may satisfy requirements for a particular position within the automotive technology field. The student may make written application to the Office of Admissions and Registration to receive written verification of completion of the certificate program.

- Perform power assist units’ diagnosis and repair.
- Perform miscellaneous diagnosis and repair: wheel bearings.
- Perform electrical diagnosis and repair of brake light system.
- Perform antilock system diagnosis and repair.
- Perform inspection of steering & suspension components and diagnose component failure.
- Identify different steering suspension systems.
- Perform disassembly and reassembly of related steering/suspension components.
- Identify passive restraint and airbag components.
- Perform diagnostic tests on passive restraint and airbag components.
