Students will continue to observe/participate in programmed clinical experiences within the radiology departments at area hospitals.

- one (1) Clinical Competency Evaluation and two (2) Pre-Competency’s from Unit IV
- one (1) Clinical Competency Evaluation and three (3) Pre-Competency’s from Unit V
- three (3) Pre-Competency’s from Unit VI.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a minimum of 75% on laboratory simulations and written exams pertaining to the anatomy and positioning of the thoracic viscera, abdomen, upper extremities, lower extremities, digestive system, urinary system, cranium, facial bones, and spine.
- Exhibit proper radiation protection responsibilities for radiography personnel, patients, and the public.
- Demonstrate understanding of patients, patients’ families, and professional peer’s diverse backgrounds due to their value system, cultural and ethnic influences, communication styles, socioeconomic influences, health risks, and life stages.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients, their radiographs, and pertinent patient information as enforced by HIPAA.
- Demonstrate under indirect supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist proper positioning of previous examinations that competency status was achieved.
- Utilize medical terminology pertinent to radiographic anatomy and positioning and in the interpretation of diagnostic reports.
- Identify the concepts of contrast media, contrast protocols, and adverse reactions utilized in Gastrointestinal Radiography and Urography.
- Demonstrate the principles, practices, and policies of the health care organization and the responsibilities of the radiographer.
- Exhibit comprehension of the philosophical basis of ethics and proper ethical behavior.
- Demonstrate proper patient care including the physical and psychological needs of the patient and their family.
- Demonstrate the factors that influence the production and recording of radiologic images.
- Demonstrate the adequate use of radiographic, fluoroscopic, mobile, and tomographic equipment.
