Course Description
This course explores the biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects of human sexuality. Topics include sexual health, relationships, gender, orientation, and the diversity of sexual experiences, emphasizing critical thinking and respectful discussions.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system and conception.
  • Describe the physiological processes related to sexual development and functioning from prenatal development through the lifespan.
  • Identify methods of contraception, prevention of sexually transmitted infections, and sexual health resources.
  • Recognize the diversity of sexual experiences including biological sex, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
  • Discuss the impact of cultural, historical, and social factors on attitudes toward sexuality.
  • Evaluate the role of media, religion, and education in shaping sexual behaviors and beliefs.
  • Analyze the role of emotions, relationships, and mental health in sexual behavior.
  • Discuss psychological and sociological research related to sexual attraction, desire, and identity.
