Course Description
Students will cultivate scientific and cultural awareness by engaging philosophically with topics such as education, business, biomedical and healthcare ethics, environmental ethics, legal theory, and social and political philosophy.

Appropriate assessment score or ENGL 1422 - Must be taken either prior to or at the same time as this course.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Evaluate philosophical arguments related to education, business, healthcare ethics, environmental ethics, legal theory, or social and political philosophy, using logical reasoning and philosophical methods.
- Compare major ethical theories and philosophical frameworks to contemporary issues in various fields, such as biomedicine, business, and environmental policy, in order to assess moral and practical implications.
- Assess philosophical concepts with scientific, legal, and cultural sensitivity to develop a well-rounded apprehension of complex social issues.
- Construct well-reasoned philosophical arguments, demonstrating clarity, coherence, and engagement with scholarly sources.
- Evaluate the impact of philosophical ideas on public policy, institutional decision-making, and global ethical challenges, fostering a sense of responsibility and informed citizenship.
