Course Description
This introductory course covers the basic principles of plant growth, including human and environmental influences and the theoretical and practical application of agronomic principles to crop production. IAI: AG 903 Agriculture.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of crop plants for food, feed, and fiber
  • Explain the origin, classification, and geographic distribution of field crops.
  • Describe the development and physiology of plant growth and breeding.
  • Describe current cropping systems and practices.
  • Explain the principles of plant growth and the influence of humankind and the environment.
  • Identify crop pests and approved control measures.
  • Explain the theoretical and practical aspects of agronomic principles.
  • Organize, interpret, and apply data.
