Course Description

This course provides an in-depth exploration of the principles and techniques involved in designing effective web sites with a focus on user experience (UX). Students will learn the fundamental concepts of web design, including visual design principles, usability, accessibility, and interaction design. Through hands-on projects and case studies, students will develop a strong foundation in designing user-centric websites that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.

Prerequisite(s)

ITSM 1113 or consent of instructor. - Must be taken either prior to or at the same time as this course.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Exhibit proficiency in visual design principles and apply them to web design.
  • Understand, identify, and explain the principles and theories of web design.
  • Analyze user needs and design websites with a focus on usability and accessibility.
  • Apply practical experience in interaction design and user interface (UI) development.
  • Apply industry-standard tools and technologies for web design and UX.
  • Evaluate and critique websites based on their design principles and UX.
