Course Description
The student will learn common installation practices for industrial and commercial electrical circuits, including how and when to use the appropriate tools and materials. Students will wire both industrial power circuits and control circuits following blueprints and electrical schematics. Using tools safely and with the proper body mechanics will be a focus of the course.
Prerequisite(s)
ELTR 1302 - Must be completed prior to taking this course.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe and use common material for electrical installations
- Install electrical conduit
- Size, run and install electrical wire for specific applications
- Wire an industrial electrical control circuit
- Wire an industrial power circuit that controlled by an industrial control circuit
- Properly mount and secure an electrical control box
- Read and interpret industrial electrical prints
- Use of all tools safety and effectively
