Course Description

This is a capstone course for the Computer Graphic Technology program. Upon course completion, students must provide evidence of their understanding of the concepts and competencies gained in courses in the program. Students will learn the process of creating and selecting the content of, and designing the format for, a creative portfolio. Using Adobe Creative SuiteĀ® software and/or Autodesk software, students will be expected to assemble and distribute a final portfolio, both digital and hard copy. This portfolio will be reviewed by, and is subject to the approval of, appropriate faculty and members of the Computer Graphic Technology advisory committee.

Prerequisite(s)

Completion of any four COGT courses and consent of program coordinator - Must be completed prior to taking this course.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Evaluate writing and computer graphics using criteria learned in class.
  • Develop graphical works for inclusion in a professional body of work.
  • Select at least sixteen works for display in a traditional and digital portfolio.
  • Write and develop a professional resume and create a personal business card.
  • Participate in mock job interviews, during which the students will review their portfolios and professional resumes with the interviewer.
