Course Description
This is a foundational course in active learning strategies and effective study skills that focuses on the learner's role and responsibility in the learning process. Topics will include time management, study methods, test-taking tips, information literacy, and financial awareness.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Gain self awareness of their strengths and weaknesses as college students
  • Improve self-management and critical thinking skills relating to the college learning process
  • Develop improved cultural competence and communication skills
  • Practice and adopt a variety of study skill strategies for college learning
  • Develop information literacy skills
  • Develop awareness of financial challenges faced by community college students
  • Produce a Master Academic Plan designed to help reach program or degree completion
