Course Description
This course emphasizes the interpretation of the human figure. It focuses on the depiction of the human figure through the use of a live, nude model in a number of different environments, including both interior and exterior situations when possible. Students in this course are encouraged to explore their understanding of the figure and interpret those understandings visually. AAS: Humanities elective.
Prerequisite(s)
ARTS 2613 - Must be completed prior to taking this course.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Render the human form accurately using various drawing media and techniques, with an inclusion of color.
- Develop a deeper understanding of the proportions of the human body and how to bring that knowledge into a drawing.
- Develop well rendered drawings relying only on personal drawing skills, observation, and creative problem solving.
- Identify various artists who concentrate on the human form in their art.
