Course Description
This course will include the application of the sciences of genetics, physiology and nutrition to the improvement of the animal industries. It also will include an introduction to animal management and production practices. Included will be a study of animal breeds, breeding and selection; products and marketing; production technology and economics, animal behavior, and current issues in animal science. IAI: AG 902 Agriculture.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the application of the science of genetics; physiology and nutrition to the improvement of the animal sciences
  • Become familiar with the anatomy and physiology of animal systems
  • Explain common management and production practices of the animal industries
  • Become familiar with the various types of animal products and their contributions to humans
  • Explain the economic relationship between various production methods
  • Be able to analyze and discuss contemporary issues in the animal sciences
