Course Description
The student will apply his/her knowledge of agri-hort technology by working a minimum of 160 hours at a cooperating business under the supervision of a training site supervisor and the program coordinator.
Prerequisite(s)
14 credit hours of Agri-Hort Technology core courses with a grade of C or better - Must be completed prior to taking this course.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify the major classes of companion animals
- Describe the living habits and behavior of companion animals
- Explain mammalian physiology, especially of dogs and cats
- Describe nutrition, diseases, and treatments pertaining to companion animals
- Identify careers in the companion animal industry
